We as a community driven school have the vision to enlighten and empower young minds, thereby enabling them to become our future global go getters. It is important to Cottonfield to equip our learners with skills which will allow them to carry out the school’s core values , which includes respect, tolerance and inclusion, integrity, responsibility and sportsmanship, well into their future. We are committed to providing an education for all children and families of the local community through open and fair teaching practices.  

Mission of Cottonfield Pre-Primary:

At Cottonfield our focus is to ensure that all of the hungry young minds of our community are able to access an education by providing the following at all times:

1. Comprehensive and cohesive learning programs that are in alignment with the requirements of the Department of Education using the Elda Programme.

2. Qualified and pro-active teachers who are dedicated to the profession. We are committed to ensuring the ongoing professional development of our teachers.

3. A quality learning environment that allows our learners to be confident to communicate their thoughts and carry themselves out with pride and excellence. 

4. Classroom assistants to support learners and teachers.

5. Collaboration between parent and principal using different methods of efficient communication.

6. Promoting social and physical  and cognitive development of each child.

Teaching services and recreational services:

1. At Cottonfield we have spacious classrooms equipped with learning equipment, playground facilities, Security and airconditioned
classrooms.

2.Teaching services: At Cottonfield Pre-Primary we cater for the following age groups: 18 months – 6 years.

  1. Affordable Full Daycare facility.

Learning programs as per the Caps curriculum set out by the Department of Education. Our learning programs/work activities  are set out by the principal in collaboration with the ever dedicated staff  .

Transition Phase

Once grade R is completed, children are received at schools in Morningside, Durban North and Glenwood
